hi fellow non-peddlers, i just joined after occasional tunings in to your friendly and seasoned banter....my wife and i live in singapore, i am a US citizen, my eldest son lives in nashville, my other son and daughter live in london....kinda makes sense, i suppose....

i bought a west coast lap steel (C6) from bob littleton a few years ago and that renewed my love for steel guitar which suddenly became portable. i now have another (B11) and bob is making me a custom one. i also play pedal steel (MSA double neck, E9/C6) and dobro tuned low to a D or Db major to get a more elastic sound. i have made a few CDs, some cover, some original compositions.

gerald ross just put up my latest effort, " love song of kalua" with son david, which is dedicated to all non-peddlers in the steel guitar forum.

a little wet behind the ears..but glad to join you guys..

much moved, thanks for all the kind words, you surprise me, and make me feel so welcome! impossible to find the time to reply individually....let us try to get steel guitar popular in the world again, like it used to be nearly a hundred years ago ...it is high time again for this beautiful instrument we love....and rescue it from modern country music!

Kay, someone told me that you had recorded a tune with a Mohan Veena. Is that true, and if so where can I find it?

keith,

there is somebody else who did that. i think he is debasish chakrabarty, an indian classical steel guitarist. my steel guitar roots come from the stable of garney nyss, a pupil of tau moe and m.k. moke.
