I'm looking for a hard case for my Bronson Singing Electric Lap Steel. Anyone know of an off-the-shelf item that might work? It's 7" wide, 32.5" long and about 2.5" thick.

Alan-- there's a Supro hardshell case on eBay now with almost the same internal measurements (32 1/2 x 7 1/2),latches and handle fine, "v.g. condition" overall.
Item # 7312106309. -Steve |

I went to a gun shop and they found a great "gigbag" type thing that is really heavily padded- much better than your usual ones- and for a reasonable price. It even has lots of outside pockets for accessories. |

If you find another...
I recently bought a Bronson Singing Electric on ebay ($150!) that turned out to be dead mint other than a little oxidizing of the metal plating. The plating was still undisturbed on the screw-on Amphenol connector!
Too bad the ahhsoles at UPS dropped the box and smashed in the short side of the ohsc inside... |

Ben, this is exactly the reason I stay away from UPS. The U.S. Post office does a fine job for me, without the damage. I believe the post office picks up packages too.???

Ben,
Never, ever use UPS. They totally suck. The Post Office has a lot more respect for fragile packages.

You guys got that right. If you don't want tire tracks on your package, stay away from UPS. I have had good luck with USPS (so far) FEDEX was OK also. |

FedEx is bad in my area. They left one of my steels a half mile from my house but claimed on their tracking page it had been delivered AND they gotten a signature for it! Worthless liars.
Stick with the Post Office. If you have an insurance claim you're more likely to collect on it than from these private scammer-shippers.[This message was edited by Alan Kirk on 02 April 2005 at 08:14 AM.] |
