I don't know how to put a direct link in here but check this out. Ebay auction #
7304927666. I'll bet some of you guys were in this at the last with me. Probably way too much to pay for it, but I just got to try it.

Byron,
I was the one that asked him to pop the top and find out the date. These are such beauties! I bought one last month and it's in pieces right now being cleaned and re-strung. I like this one so much that I wanted another!
Don't worry about the price. They play and sound wonderful! You'll love it. I just wish that they came with legs.

Thanks Craig, I definitely owe you one for "discovering" the correct date of manufacture. IF I like it as much as I hope something will have to be done about legs,

I think you'd better just consider building a nice padded~stand for that one! If the wiring ever becomes a question for you, here's the diagram that will work. click here

Byron,
One other bit of advice. On my Deluxe, both the nut and the bridge had some buildup of corrosion. It wasn't visible to the naked eye, but really stood out when I removed the ancient strings and used an eye loupe. So I took a cotton swab and dabbed a bit Mothers Chrome Polish on the grooves and let it sit for a hour or so. Then used an old Tee shirt to clean and polish the area. Upon re-inspection the corrosion was gone and the grooves looked great! I then polished the rest of the chrome as well. However, I didn't let it sit as long. Talk about bright and shiny!!
My logic to cleaning it like this was both asthetics and to assure that the string wouldn't be cut or weakened by the groove corrosion.
I haven't gone after the body yet, but I intend to use Murphys Oil soap. There are area's where the finish is worn down to bare wood. So, I might use something a little waxy on the finish to hopefuly seal it and stop any further chipping of the exposed paint.
Keep me posted on yours and good luck!

Thanks for the diagram link John. No way I'll drill it for legs.
