I just acquired a clean Gibson Royaltone 6-string lap steel. I found that they were made between '50 and '52. It sounds real cool. Anyone have any comments on this lap steel?

Pointed bouts, natural flame maple top. Brown painted body.

I like mine. It has a darker sound than my other postwar Gibsons. The lower tones are very full, but the highs aren't as bright. That could be because of the old original capacitor.
Are you a player or collector. I a collector for the most part, but I occasionally sit in with blues groups.
What part of St. Louis are you from? I'm down that way several times a month. |

Richard, I'm more of a player (well a wannabe) than a collector. I've got a Rick B-6 that I like to play and my wife has an old Fender Deluxe 6 that she loves. I'd consider parting with this Gibson since I got it on a trade deal and don't really need it. I want to maybe part with it so I can get a second dobro. Drop me an email.
