Spotted this chrome-pickup 3-neck.
The photo is so dark you have to download it and enhance the brightness to see anything. One of the reasons it might not be moving is they call it a pedal, but the photo shows no pedals. Looks like a 26" scale, very early model. 33 frets. Original domed knobs.

Something is fishy with this one. What's with the straight legs? I thought all Stringmasters had angled legs.

Lollipop tuners too -it must be a real early model, '53 or '54? Definitely 26" scale. I'd think about it, but even 24 1/2" is too long for me. I'd get longaphobia . .

I've got a '54 long scale D-8 and the legs have a bunch more angle than this SM. I was also tempted to run up to Ludlow just to answer some questions but I'm decompressing from a late night last night and it's just not in the cards. |

I have a blonde 1954 triple, 26" scale Stringmaster. It had only slightly angled leg sockets. These were normally for the four-neck; but Fender put some of those leg sockets on the triple-necks.
The triple-necks look much better with the 18 degree wider stance leg sockets. I'm changing mine to the wider stance type and adding a fifth socket in the center at the tuning end to be used with either three or four legs. |
