Hey guys - a friend of mine, Mike Winslow just joined up. He may be new to the forum, but he's not new to Steel Guitar by a long shot. He has an impressive collection of Steel Guitars and other cool gear, and he's a dedicated picker - no doubt about it! Like many of us, he's a guitar player that loves to play Steel . .

Mike has a severe case of chronic Steel G.A.S. - incurable I'm afraid. I kid him because he keeps telling me he's going to stop - and then the next day he tells me about the new Steel he just "won"! He sure does get some deals, though . .

I call him "Mr. Nevergonnabuynomoresteels"
He likes that.

Mike, are you there?

Oh yeah, I remember that. It was a BuyItNow - and you snapped it up like a frog taking a fly!
I tried to find a pic of it, but I must have misplaced the link. It sure is purty - maybe you could send me a pic and I'll post it . .

Mike,

Welcome to the Steel Guitar Forum & JCFSC.

Man, that's some beautiful Steel Armor you have there. While I'm kind of partial to Fender, one can't help but to admire the other well crafted steel's out there.

One of these day's, that Fender rascal Rick Alexander the Great, will figure out how to stage an Easter parade of Steels (Fender) on the Forum.

Thank's for coming to work today....... TX
rgds,

Ron

Loni,

No, I'm not THE Michael Winslow the comedian...the closest I come to a comedian is Robin Williams......and that's only because he lives in a neighborhood not far from me and I at times pass him on the street or see him browsing in the local bookstore.

Jody,
Jody,
Just didn't understand what that particular acronym meant. For the past year I've been suffering from chronic and severe steelaholism. Which sort of translates into I've spent more time looking for and buying steels rather than playing them. I'm better now.....I really am.....really.....I'm cured.....

Rick,

I'd like to thank you for being a great friend and suggesting I join the Steel Guitar Forum. If it weren't for you....I'd probably be on ebay right now! Thanks to your encouragement and support and the SGF, I may not get there until after dinner.

Ron,

I was in the San Francisco Guitar Center Vintage area yesterday and was told they were in the process of negotiating the purchase of a 50's Fender triple neck steel guitar. This is a place where a '59 strat was selling for $19,000....so if they ever put it up for sale, I can't wait to see what the price is going to be.....but my guess is that buying a boat will be way less expensive.
