I've been using a low A6 and E13 on the far neck. What are you other guys using? I'm thinking of going to a C6 instead of A6.

Al, you can quickly and easily retune your A6 to C6 and back again.

A6 C6 C6/A7
_________________________
E -------- E --------- E
C# ------- C --------- C
A -------- A --------- A
F# ------- G --------- G
E -------- E --------- E
C# ------- C --------- C#
A -------- A --------- A
F# ------- G (or F)--- G (or E)

The E's and A's stay the same, the C#'s are tuned down to C, and the F#'s are tuned up to G.
You can tune the 8th string to F for a "C6/FM7" tuning that is very versatile.

From the C6 tuning, you can raise the lower C up to C# and get the C6/A7 tuning.

You can also easily tune to other useful tunings such as B11th and C#m7.

I tune the inside to C6:

E
C
A
G
E
C#
A
A (bass note)

Sometimes I drop the fourth string from G down to F#, and play it as a D9 tuning.

I tune the outside to E13:

E
C#
G#
E
F#
D
B
E

Sometimes I drop the second string from C# down to B and use it as an E9 tuning.

Hey, thanks everyone, some of these tunings are pretty cool and give some nice sounds.
