"Max and the Pigeon Incident" by Dave Wasson is a fun little cartoon. The soundtrack, besides having a nice 50's small-combo swing feel, incorporates an acoustic steel in an interesting way.

A bit long for a cartoon (over 11 minutes) but try watching the first few minutes at least.

Thanks for the link. That might be bottleneck guitar rather than steel. By the way, 11 minutes is the standard length for cartoons.
