This is a recording of a recent show (11/25/06) at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction in NYC. Just a little something to offer up since it's been a while that I've recorded anything. There are some new tunes that are works in progress, and as always, a real casual (loose) feel to the whole thing. I welcome any and all comments, positive or negative. Of course, you'll have to suffer through some of the endless chatter coming from one of the tables nearest the stage (if you came to talk, why sit up front?). Anyway, here she is--hope you enjoy:
Moonlighters at Mo Pitkin's
I play a 1929 National Tricone squareneck and a 1936 National Duolian roundneck, which I recently purchased here on the forum and restored. I must say, that is one helluva good sounding guitar!
The show was recorded on a Sony portable DAT with CoreSound binaural mics placed in front of me on stage.

Mike, I'm four songs into the show. Especially your tricone tone and playing, and the bass, sound great. And the ending of "Siegfried Doll" rocks!

Nice work Mike and gang! Listening to you play makes me want to put all my gear in the truck and roll it off a cliff (and I mean that in the best way!  )

Gerald said I love your version of 'Bali Hi'. Mike, you get an almost electric sound out of your Tricone on that one - that's a good thing.
Electric? Never. 
Actually, while I'm reluctant to post this, I've done a few sessions with my ex ('34 Frying Pan), and one was a Christmas sampler from a year or 2 ago. I just showed up for the session, all the tracks (except vocals) were already recorded and I had about 15 minutes to fumble my way through the tune. The arrangement of Mele Kalikimaka is decidedly un-Hawaiian and I couldn't even find a spot to throw in turnaround. Anyway, I didn't know the tune and it is what it is.
