Is this picture a true color of Pinky?
Pinky sure looks tan, not blond.

Don Kona Woods... perhaps you aren;t seeing the same color I am, or the rust lining of the case is influencing the blonde. It looks right to me.

I think the exact color you see depends on your display. In person it's definitely blonde with just enough amber in the clear coat to give it the appearance of some age.
Anyway, it looks good to me.
I see now that the logo plate was installed upside down, so I'll have to flip that around...

hello Lynn will you please give me the
dimensions of your deluxe 8 body i have a
fender champ and it looks very much like
your d8 im hopeing to build an 8 string
guitar i have a few parts including a 8
string tuneing pan that i thought would have
been bigger but it looks the same size has
my champ 6 string pan i am wondering is the
nut and fretboard of your d8 the same size
has my champ nut and fretboard so can you
give me the size of nut and fretboard aswell
has the body hope you dont mind thank you |

The body is 31" in length, tapering from 4 3/8" to 6 9/16" at the widest. The nut is 2 5/8" with the strings spaced 2 3/16"; The bridge is 3 1/16" with the strings spaced 2 5/8". The fretboard tapers from 2 5/16" to 2 15/16".
I had the fretboard and the name plate removed and reinstalled by a guitar builder named Mike Lull. He sent it to the guy who finishes his instruments.
In theory you use a palette knife to lift the nails, but I know he had some problems getting them off. Apparently when it was refinished in pink they tried to remove the name plate and failed, and ended up glueing the nails in place.

There are some pencil marks under the original clear coat, but nothing that can be deciphered as a date.

Don't you think Pinky needs a new name. Maybe TGFKAP,(The Guitar Formally Know As Pinky). That's a little had to pronounce though so maybe you could just use a symbol...
Or how about Blondie?
