Someone just tipped me to this Italian builder: http://mstangher.tripod.com/
He makes electric lap steels and Weissenborn style acoustic steels.

Nice looking guitars, but when the web site loaded, 8 ads for winning a new lap top popped up. When I tried to close one, 2 more popped up. Eventually I was able to close them all. I hope it didn't load any spyware.

I'll never look at that web site again.

That's good to know, thanks. I run Firefox on a Mac, so I don't always see all the popups that others see.

I have a popup blocker, so was no problem to see the site; looks great! some killer looking stuff, not too sure about all those strat style pickups though. Kept looking for a P90.

Just bought a bullet-type tonebar made from brass from this guy (won it on Ebay) - friendly, fast shipping, seems to be reliable.
In case you are wondering: soundwise there's almost no difference between the brass bar and one made from steel...

The brass bar must look beautiful, but since brass is softer than steel strings, I would expect the bar to become scratched very easily.
