I received this email out of the blue:
quote:

From: "Lisa Graham" <txgal1998@yahoo.com>
To: quasar@b0b.com
Subject: counterfeit money orders
Date: Thu, 14 Dec 2006 08:24:06 -0800 (PST)

Hello,

My name is Lisa. I am one of these crazy people that tried out one of these companies. I received (3) Walmart Money Grams via Fed Ex in the amount of $950.00 each. Because I am not totally stupid I went straight to Walmart instead of putting these checks in my bank and as I suspected they were in deed counterfeit.

My question to you now is what do I do? Do I report these to the authorities or what. I have several e-mail correspondence that I could send you in order to possible catch the criminals. I have changed my Yahoo as directed on your web site.

I want nothing more but to stop this and possible help someone else from being hurt. Luckily I did not put this in my Bank Account.

Please respond ASAP and let me know what I should do. The Fed Ex came from California, I am in Texas.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Lisa

I did a little email dance with "Lisa" to make sure she wasn't a Forum member. I'm pretty sure this is an entry point to a scam. Beware. People aren't always who they claim to be.

and how do we know for certain that you are the real b0b ?

If you send me 3 Wallmart checks for $950 each , and they are good, I'll believe you, uhh..that is, right after I cash them.

I am in contact with Lisa and will handle this matter. She is a victim not a purpetrator, of Nigerian fraudsters.

Thanks, Wiz. I'm always wary when I get emails out of the blue like this.

I'm sorry, I'm very confused here. Maybe you *are* in "contact" with "Lisa"....but, how does that convince you it's not a scam?

How have you verified who "Lisa" is? "Lisa" can quite easily be some scumbag sitting in front of his monitor, in his underwear, pulling scams on whoever he can get to respond to his emails.

What's the inside dope on this? What makes you so sure it's legit? The original post fails to pass the smell test, IMO.
