does anyone know what you would use to clean ink from the print head. I have a printer that was using refilled ink cartridges and the excess ink dried on the print head. The usual cleaning options in the printer don't get it.I am hesitant to use any chemicals on it without knowing what to use.Is my only option to buy a new print head ?

I usually just use some water and a swab.

Bud, is the printhead built into the cartridge or is it separate? Some will unclog and some won't. I had a Canon, which had a separate printhead and I tried uncligging it and couldn't. Canon wanted $89.99 plus shipping for a new head and I wound up just dumping the printer.

Hello Jack...
Yes it is a canon printer...I think you are right , it is almost cheaper to buy a new printer...
Are you back home now ? How did the tour with Tommy Cash go ?
Thanks for your input.

Bud

Bud, we are still doing the Tour He is leaving for Nashville this morning and will be back Saturday. Our next show is Saturday night in Zephyrhills. We have 6 shows left including a long trip to Moorehaven.

The Canon printer I had was an i950S

I just dumped a Brother MFC-3220C because of the dreaded "Machine error 41" code which means the print head is shot. Brother wanted more for the printhead than I paid for the printer. This is a common problem with Brother printers.

Bud, we're in Ruskin Monday, 20th, (actually 8 miles south of Ruskin on US41) at the Manatee RV Park and that one is open to the public. Most of the RV parks are restricted to park residents only.

That's the only one close to Bradenton.

The only other show that's open to the public is The Oaks RV park in Bushnell on Tuesday, 21st.

We have one in Lakeland but it's restricted to park residents. Same way with Cloverleaf Farms in Brooksville.

We've got one long trip left, in Moorehaven.
