Hello, Does anyone on the FORUM own a Melobro Guitar? If so could you please post a sound sample (tune) on the FORUM?

I believe Melobro guitars will be available once again, in 6,7 & 8 string models, when the Melobar Guitar Company gets up to speed,
with its new owner, Mr. Jim Frost.

Jeff Peterson used one on tour with Clint Black. Search this section for his name and you will find some talk about the Melobro.

Ed you should list your Melobar Screamer in "Buy & Sell".

I am wanting a sound sample of an acoustic Melobro guitar, similar to a Dobro guitar. The main difference is that the Melobro has a fiberglas body.

Roger, I had a Melobro from the middle of the series, before Ted started putting baffles into them. It was a pretty darn good sounding reso, warmer and fuller than you might imagine, and plenty loud. I liked it better than the Gibson Hound Dog I also had at the time. I've compared it closely to both a Crafters of Tenn. Maple body and a Beard solid Mahogany, and the wood seems to come through on both those guitars in the tone to a degree, with the Melobro sounding a bit more, um, "generic" for lack of a better term. I would stack a Melobro up with a medium priced wood reso any day, and I'm sure each successive generation will be better sounding. They turn a lot of heads too. I have quite a few recordings of both the melobro and wood bodies, but they wouldn't be of much use as they were all recorded at different studios and mixed differently. It seemed to record nearly as well as the Beard, for instance, although the Beard had more character higher on the neck. Don't know if that helps any...
