Recently, we bought a new Apple MAC Mini for my wife. It is an amazing computer for the price. The best feature is the sound level. Unless the CD-ROM drive is running, there is virtually no sound coming from the computer. I bought a laptop last Summer for my studio but it has a fan that comes on periodically which is noisy. I wish I had that Mini for my studio but my wife won't think of it.

I havent messed with one quite yet but the specs on even the $499 one are almost identical to my Powerbook. I've managed to record an entire album on this thing so I'd imagine you could do the same with the mini. Its no G5 but definatly a great option for anyone thats tired of worrying about virus', spyware, and every other rediculous problem associated with Windoze.

On my G4 Powerbook, the hard disk isn't fast enough for extensive multi-track recording. I suspect that the same would be true of the Mini Mac - it's pretty much the same class of machine. I've been told that I should get an external hard disk for serious recording.
