Bought a text a couple of years ago on Csound. "The Csound Book" (MIT Press) came with a couple of CD's. Lots of high powered tools, also a steep learning curve. I was wondering if any other steelers have tried to use this monster and what applications may have been found for the steel?

I played with it a bit but it was too dense for me to fathom. I've had much better luck with JMusic, a Java music library developed at a university in Australia.

Here's the link: http://jmusic.ci.qut.edu.au/

I actually discovered a subtle timing bug in its MIDI routines, and submitted a fix which was included in the library. So now I'm not just a user, I'm a contributor!

Thanks a bunch for the link Bobby. We'll see what the Java gurus have to offer. CSound is a real bear. Mighty powerful but easy to get screwed up in too.
