George
Have you done anything in Biab showing how to import & install sound fonts. I'm completely lost. Wish the manuals were as informative as your site.
Thanks
Joe

Joe, Allanahs page has some good info on sound fonts, as well as some free sound fonts. http://www.members.shaw.ca/glitch/index.html

I hang out on that site quite a bit, but George Wixon's site walks you through installing and changing different things on Biab. He should call the site BIAB FOR DUMMIES. He shows a window for every move required. You can't go wrong.

Thanks Geo. You have helped me a lot.

Hi Joe,
I have never done anything at all with sound fonts but if you tell me what you are trying to do, I can certainly try and help you out.
I can tell you right now that you do not load a sound font into BIAB.
Sound fonts are used by your sound card and BIAB will play that font via the sound card when you set up the patch map to tell it what bank you are looking for.

I would like to experiment with different sound fonts like guitars, fiddles, etc.

I realize you don't load the fonts directly into Biab, but into the Creative SB Live sound card using AudioHQ. After that I'm lost because I don't uderstand what they are talking about.

How do you get the font from where ever it is, to the sound card so it can be used.

Also, will it replace the current fonts or will they be added to the pile?

The instruction leave a lot to be desired to a novice. Your method is excellent, and I wished the font install explanation were on your site. Do you think this could be possible in the near future. I know I'm not the only font dummy out there.

Come on font dummies, lets hear it for George.
Joe

Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe,
I have Thursday and Friday off this week, unless I get called for a service job, and I'll put up how to set up the sound font files for the card to read and how to get BIAB to play them. Should be up by the end of the day on Thursday.
