The link in Jim V's post works fine for me, so you've probably got something cached on your PC.

If you use Internet Explorer, go to Tools->Internet Options->on the General-page look in the "Temporary Internet Files"-box and press "Delete Files", click Yes to delete all offline content and try again.

If you're not using Internet Explorer you've got to find the similar function in your browser - it's there in all browsers !

Hope that helps !

Ole

Guys I really appreciate your suggestions, but none have worked. I wondering if my wife has put in a site blocker like you use to keep kids off unsavory sites? Keep me from spending money? Humm?
I can get every other site on the links but Seymour. I'm calling my tech tomorrow for help. Thanks again.

You may have a hosts file that is redirecting when trying to access the web site in question.

Open your host file in notepad.

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS

Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS

Win 98\ME = C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS

Delete all lines not starting with "#" except "127.0.0.1 localhost". Then reboot and try the web address again.

Thanks again, but still no workee. I called my SBC/Yahoo tech rep and he tried the webb address and got the same result and he told me the site must be down. I didn't believe him because everyone else is bringing it up.
Will, I tried the C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS and got the message cannot locate. I have Windows 98 with Google and Yahoo and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
I feel like a whipped pup.

You might try opening a command prompt, and type this:

ping www.steelguitar.net (enter key)

see what IP address returns, or see if you get a DNS error. If the DNS is wrong, it's your ISP. If the name will ping ok, and you get an IP number back, it's something in your pc most likely. Since they couldnt get to the page either, sounds like it's their DNS server messing up, wrong entry for that server or something. Ping will tell you.

If you get an IP number for the site, post it here for someone else to compare, see if it matches.

You need a space between "ping" and "www".

Just a thought: Clear your temporary internet files and your history. Then run ScanDisk. When if finishes run Disk Defragmenter. When that's all done, click Windows Update. Install any necessary fixes. Log off and power down the computer. Open the cabinet up and, using compressed air, blow the inside of the case out. (Making sure to blow any dirt away from the processor and fan!) Put it back together and restart it. IMHO this fixes so many little problems. (Even though it takes the better part of a day to accomplish. )

My best,
Ernie

Some sites don't come up properly if your browser settings block all cookies. I don't know the privacy settings in '98 but in XP they're under IE's Tools>>Internet Options menu and there's a separate tab for privacy.

Perhaps the yahoo and google toolbars are blocking pop-ups and that's causing some problem. You could try temporarily disabling any pop-up blockers you have.

HagFan

PS: Blocking cookies doesn't seem to cause a problem with accessing that site.

If you have Spybot Search and Destroy give that a run - I've had a couple of clients lately that have gotten some spyware or ad-ware that caused a similar problem. Running Spybot cleared out the culprit.

John, I ran Spybot and Adaware and cleaned up several items but it didn't get me onto Steel Guitar Nashville.
It's weird in that I can log onto all of the other sites from the Forum links. I'm calling a tech. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
