I got a letter from a seller or so i thought and opened it. It said something about what shipping charges would be to Vermont. There was a link to a item number and I clicked on the link. There was nothing there when it opened the page. I went to ebay and the item number didn't exist. I don't think opening the email did anything but by opening the link i might of picked up a virus. Anybody seen or heard about this one yet? |

Unknown to me, but it serves as yet another reminder of how important it is to be VERY careful with what emails we open (in only the last 24 hours my Norton has stopped 15 virus infected mails).
Did you ask yourself, before opening that link: "Is this someone I have been in touch with. Is this information I have asked for?".
That's how it has become these days, you have to stay alert all the time...

You're right i've got to be more careful. I thought maybe someone was using my ebay account. I ran a virus scan called"House calls" from Trendmicro and found some malware and spyware. Notably "0021-bdl94126.exe", "silent.exe", and "c54po28.exe". These were mentioned alot in a websearch as spyware etc. Someone suggested spyware removal by "Spybot" or using a brouser called "Moxilla" |

I've been getting a few of those every day lately. I delete them without opening them. They can't be good news.

Well, I'm selling something and I got an email about shipping charges to Chicago. I thought this was legit as the link did go to my auction. I also replied. What should I look out for? I don't keep any information on my HD.
