I have a Dell A-940 printer/scanner that looks almost identical to my" Lexmark"
that I just got rid of a few months ago.I have to buy Dell ink cartridges from them
on line or over the phone.the cartridges look identical to my untrained eye,to the "lexmark"cartridges.Anyone know if they will work in my Dell printer? Its just a loy easier to go to the store and buy off the shelf.Thanks

I can't definitely answer your question, but it's quite possible that your Dell printer was made by Lexmark. I have a Compaq printer that was made by Lexmark and uses Lexmark cartridges. |

Larry;
It might be possible, but Dell specific cartridges might be different. I'd compare them side by side, checking to see what ink is where. Good luck! Brand specific cartridges are a lot more expensive.

Larry-- I've read several places that Lexmark does, indeed, make a printer (X5150) that Dell relables as the A940. Like most manufacturers, the Dell printer is priced nicely, but they certainly 'get' you on the cartridges!
Dell wants about $65 for a black/color set which can also be found on eBay usually for about $50. There are many other sources so do a 'Google' search. Have you considered trying some of the refill kits? MUCH cheaper and not too difficult. --Everett |
