John,
Here is what a computer friend of my said to do:
This is caused by one of the blaster worms. He should turn off system restore ( in system properties) restart and then run the fix and patch.

Bob & John, For some reason I don't have system restore.. When I right click on properties it says it can't find System Restore.. all that is there are the following 6 tabs.
General
Computer Name
Hardware
Advanced
Automatic Updates
Remote
So it appears that I never had system restore or lost it somewhere along the way.Any suggestions as to how I can get it back?? John
And Bruce I'll be looking forward to seeing you in the valley... |

Also I went & downloaded that critical Jul 16th security patch from Microsoft. When I try to run it a box comes up that I have to check AGREE, so I do, then it says checking the system, & then it disappears & I just have my desktop screen,, It does this everytime I try to install the patch.. Also does this with Norton.. I have Norton Anti virus in my task bar with an X on it meaning disabled, but when I right click on it to enable it nothing happens.. YIKES |

Now I'm confused all over again, downloaded the blaster worm checker from Symantec, & ran a scan on the computer, & it says I don't have the blaster worm anywhere
Double Yikes |
