Just got Cactus Publishing's PSG Design and Construction Interactive CD. I slung it into the CD/DVD drive on my computer and nothing comes up. Sounds like it's trying tho.
Here's what it says on the CD: CD should start when plugged in CD drive. If it does not copy to hard drive, then dbl. clik "Program". Sheeeeesh.

David,
I assume that the PSG does not = pedal steel guitar and stand for something like Professional Services Group. I almost got excited. Anyway, we need a reference point to work from. Do other CD's work in your PC. Did you try it after a fresh Re-boot? Also, is there another PC that you can try the CD in? What operating system are you running?
It could be a bad CD like the one I received in the mail a few days ago.
Bob

Hi Bob, the CD is "Pedal Steel Guitar Design & Construction" from Cactus Publishing and yes, other CD/DVD's work fine in my Gateway, running Windows 98. I didn't try re-booting, so I'll take that suggestion. I could give this to a friend who's better with computers and see if it will work in their machine. Of course it could be a bad CD, but I'm betting it's just something I'm not doing correctly. I had another CD of WAV sound effects that I couldn't get to run, but a buddy got it to work in his machine easily enough. I don't have any trouble on the Web, but running programs and stuff on these blasted machines is a real hair puller. Thanks DC |

Do you have a CD-R burner drive in your computer too? If so, try it in there. You might be able to open it with that instead of the regular CD drive. I find that happens a lot with burned CDs that won't open on my regular CD Rom drive but will open on the burner drive. |

It's opened, finally. Just had to go to My Computer and open D drive. The only catch with this CD is that it will require MSN Explorer 5.01 or greater in order to view some parts of it, so will have to do the download. Thanks to all. |
