I've just taken the plunge and ordered protools recording software to run on a Dell 2 gig machine running XP home edidition and with 512 Mg of Ram.
Anyone else here running protools on a PC? |

I thought Pro Tools was made for a MAC. How long has it been available for PC's? |

I recently bought a Digi 001 for a Mac G4. There seems to be a war between the Mac and the PC guys. Have you been reading the DUC for Windows? (The Digi design Users Conference) Hundreds of hours worth of topics and search archives. Very valuable. congratulations on taking the plunge. good luck - rich |

The Digi 01 has an internal PCI card which is cross platform. We have 2 G4s and 3 PCs downstairs right next to each other on the bench- all running Pro Tools LE and Digi 01s.
There are a few software differences in the import and export of files, and some of the session files will not interchange because of differing CDR formats, but the system runs on both platforms.
Digital Performer is the one which is Mac only - and in a very short time, Logic will be too!
Cheers
