Hey y'all,

Running Win2k Pro, can one set up a "Send To" shortcut (in the right mouse click menu)to 'move' the file as opposed to 'copying' the file? I think the answer is no, but maybe it can be done.

Thanks alot!

I don't think so. Send To is designed to copy files to applications or the floppy drive. Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V works fine for me.

Instead of Send To, try this:

  1. Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E).
  2. Locate the file you want to move.
  3. Right-click the file then, while holding the right button, drag it to the new directory/location. A popup menu displays.
  4. Select Move Here. Windows copies the file to the new location and deletes the old file in one step.

Thanks Jim, Jeff,

Both of those are what I use currently, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Thanks again,

Carter
