Hello all BIAB users,
I'm running the latest 11.0 version of BIAB
on a HP PC, with Windows ME. Just yesterday I was listening to various music formatts [MP3's,CD's, radio etc.] and the system was
sounding fine - Boston Acoustics with an
added RCA bass boost. All this is [was] coming thru BIAB's Roland Virtual Sound Canvas; this is the latest upgrade included with BIAB 11.
The OEM Windows soundcard is called Crystal Audio Codec. Within the VOLUME CONTROL PANEL are 8 controls: MASTER VOLUME; WAVE; SW SYNTH; CD; MICROPHONE; LINE IN; AUX; CRYSTAL 3D.
What happened all of a sudden was the switch control for WAVE moved itself to the OFF position, and this caused my overall volume to diminish by way over 1/2 strength. It took me a while to figure out why the volume went south, but when I found the WAVE culprit, I
slid the switch all the way back up to full-on. Everything was back up running fine, UNTIL...
I switched to either another song or music formatt; the WAVE switch went back to OFF again.
I've been running the sound with the VSC for a couple of months, and never had this problem until now. It is a pain, and the VSC soundcard is much superior than the Crystal Audio. Like in the tablature program, TABLEDIT, they have 2 controls [CHORUS & REVERB] that you can boost or diminish as to your liking. It never really worked well, until it was run thru the VSC. Like night and day.
Has anyone else experienced this WAVE ON/OFF problem? Of course, any suggestions on how to remedy this dumblemma is always well appreciated. Thanks All.
