I am getting them, too. I have also been getting emails from some other Forum members, the same emails basically. I believe they are some sort of Outlook virus.

NEVER EVER Never EVER!!!! open an attachment; even from a person you know...unless they explain "in the email" what they are sending you.
This is a worm/virus that has attached itself to address books and sending itself out to everyone.
This happenes because folks are attachemnt crazy and will open anything from anybody...then affects their computer and sends itself around to everyone else.

We've had similar from WC Edgar, Al Marcus and Jess Dodson.

One common thing between all 3 was there was an underscore just before their return email address. "_"

Sounds like they have a virus.

Nice thing about Outlook is that it blocked all the attachments from being opened by me

Yes, it is a virus. Do not open the attachments. I've only got the (virus) messages at my hotmail address and forunately they scan everything with McAfee and it detected the virus.

The Subject on both that I got wer "re..." nothing else. That's another clue.

I believe that these are automated VIRUSES
Norton detected a virus sent to me from AL
and from other Forum members that I have had e-mail contact with in the past.

the virus is in a file called New_Napster.mp3
delete it, dont open or answer it.

Ann,
i've had some paper clips I couldn't open. It didn't say anything, but do you think Outlook knew there was a bug in there?.

I just received another: From CHUCK MARTIN
with an attachment and under Subject, only "Re"........and no other info'
It immediately activates my MEDIA PLAYER
program.....
The only thing I've EVER downloaded from anywhere to media player was that fabulous music "C6th Melodies" or whatever it was here on the Forum.
Not an accusation....just information!

Some people are saying that they "can't" open the paperclip attachment. Don't even try! You should never open an attachment unless you know what it is. Curiosity killed the hard disk.

I got this email, too, except that there was a subject, and I could reply to it. I never even thought it could be a virus. WHAT DO I DO NOW???? How do I know if I have this virus? That is, what will it do?

Thanks, Lincoln

PS. So far, nothing seems to be affected.

I got it too. My McAfee slipped up. I think I will change to Norton, or something else.
Important: Don't open an attachement, unless you verify that it is expected. In other words say you are sending an attachment and say what it is, a picture, tuning chart, etc. right in the email. I never sent any of those Emails that got out. I don't know why this kind of thing has to happen...al

Hmm...it just opened in mine, I didn't click on it, or open it at all. It did the job just fine all by itself.
Sigh, now if I had bothered to update my virual protection system I might have been all right.
