Does anyone know how to remove the previous owners name from showing up on some of the programs. I looked in the registry but there are too many folders to look thru without some guidance. Thanks

Dan -- As always, back up the registry first. Use the REGEDIT.EXE program located in your Windows folder to open the registry file. Then click the 'edit' tab and use the 'find' command to find the user's name. Select only the 'values' and 'data' elements and start from the highest level (my computer). CAREFULLY edit any found items to change the previous owner's name as desired.
Remember, this file is critical -- don't mess up. --Everett

That will get some, but not all of the previous owner's names removed. Many of the software programs encrypt the registered owner's name in the registry and other places for the purpose of foiling people from doing just what you're attempting. |
