I posted this question in another thread but no one has responded to it. I have seen some negative opinions regarding CompUSA no-label CD-R's. What experience do y'all have with these discs and what troubles have you had with them? I have burned about 150 of them and they all seem to work great for me. You can't beat the price of them, about $0.20 each. Someone said that they skip & don't burn well. I haven't noticed this problem with my set-up and was wondering if there might be some burners that just don't like these CD-R's. My burner is a Phillips. A friend of mine has an HP burner and he has burned as many if not more CD's than me and they work great for him too.
I would like to hear others opinions on this issue. When I hear the negative talking about CompUSA CD-R's, I wonder if I'm missing something.
Thanks,

Has anyone ever tried CompUSA brand Digital AUDIO CDRs? (For use in home audio CD recorders, not in computers)

I've never heard or seen anything about those generic CD's. They are probably as good as any. The only problem is the raised lettering on the label side, if you want to put your own CD label on, they will not stick well.
I use the generic Verbatim CD-R's that Sam's Club sells as they have a flat (white) label surface and the labels adhere well. |

I bought some of the no-name "printable" (white top) CD-Rs and I haven't had any complaints. About 1 in 20 doesn't burn and has to be tossed, though. Also, we had one (just one that I know of) that skipped a lot when we played it.
I've probably burned about 100 of them so far. I figure at these prices, I can put up with a few duds.
