EB, in a different post about 500k pots, you mentioned the KA5041S28 from digikey...
I need a replacement pot that will fit into an old MSA pedal. I am curious what the actual dimensions of the digikey pot are.
There is little to no clearance between the back of the pot and the interior wall of the pedal so a Dunlop will not work.
The original pot is 2" overall, the case is 1/2" , threaded portion is 1/2", and the exposed shaft is 1".
The pedal uses a pinion gear on the shaft and a rack. There is about a 1/4" left on the end of the shaft past the gear, so the shaft could be a bit shorter than 1".
If you have a loose one could you post the measurements? thanx

Bo,
I'm not EB, but here is a spec. page for the pot you mention. Hope it helps.

That pdf from Bob Knight has the pot dimensions (in mm) nicely pictured in the upper right hand corner better than I could measure them. If I understand you, the shaft in the KA might be too short for you. It extends 12.7mm, about a half inch, beyond the threads.

Thank you Bob and Earnest, the spec drawing is perfect. My concern is that the short shaft may be stressed or the gear won't hold if the pinion gear is attached out near the end of the shaft. But the price is right so I will try it out anyway. Thanks again for the link.
