Walker Stereo Steel Problem?

I bought this amp used so it might not be a general problem...It works great in most venues, but yesterday I played in a Gazebo in a park that had GFIC wiring(ground fault interupt) and as soon as I plug in it would "pop" the circuit...Had to run through the PA!...Tried it this morning at home fine,except if I plug it into the GFIC outlet by kitchen sink it immediately kick off circuit!!!If mine's the only problem child,I'd like to know..Thanks JS

Call GD or send him an email. Sounds to me like faulty wiring on the AC chord. The ground part of the plug may be shorted out. GD will help you with no problem even if you did not buy the amp from him. He is a great guy.

As an ex amp tech, I would not use the amp until it's repaired. Could be the AC power cord is defective, could be wired wrong internally or even some (I don't know about your particular amp) have bypass capacitors and one of them could be shorted.

In any case it's potentially dangerous to use it as it is. I don't usually "cry wolf" but with AC and grounding problems I do.

Finally tracked down problem! The 110 volt muffin fan on back has a short to ground..Not enough to affect the amp when plugged in regular outlet but enough to blow a GFIC outlet!!!Gerry's sending me new fan as I write this...Another satisfied Walker customer!!JS
