- play guitar on Bright side (with reverb)
- steel on Normal side (no verb)
- vintage Twin (don't want to mod)
- Recommened Reverb/Delay/Echo to use?

I use a Lexicon 100 MPX, set pretty dry (just my own personal taste).

I've used an Ibanez Delay III stomp with real good results. It does 'verb, slap, and echo/delay very nicely, and it has 4 controls that let you pretty much tailor the sound. Eats batteries, though, so it's best to use a wall-wart with it.

Prices are all over the place on these, though, so shop around - used ones go for $80-$250, new ones that you can still find go for $125 -$180 (yeah, that confuses me too).

To modify a twin so you get reverb in the normal channel is a matter of moving one wire. Any amp tech should be able to do it. It will not devalue your vintage amp.

The older Lexicon LXP-1, LXP-5 or a Roland RV-5.

- "moving 1 wire"
- GOT to be a cost/trade-off somewhere?

I recently saw an Alesis Quadverb going for about 75 in this forum. This unit will do all of the effects you need and them some. Excellent EQ as well.

Moving the 1 wire to get reverb on both channels is an easy modification which can always be changed back. I got the diagram from Ken Fox here on the Forum and did it. It provides reverb and vibrato/tremelo on both channels with no degradation in tone. Seems like Fender would have made that mod or at least put a switch to activate it but who knows what the thinking was. I can send the diagram to you if you want it.

They basically did that with the 90's Vibrasonic. Also they cutout the cathode bypass cap on the first gain stage of channel 2 (Steel channel).
