Here's what my MSA Legend sounds like recorded direct to console with no pre-amp, just RV-5 reverb. This is a short sample of a song I am working on and is about 1 MB in size. Not the prettiest sound but I posted this just to give a real example of the raw sound with no color.

That sounds great, Greg! I'm really enjoying your recordings. Refresh my memory. What pickup are you using on your MSA?

I ordered and assume that I got Truetone pickups. I know they are 16.9K ohms on both necks. Now I'd like to record the same thing with a Revelation pre-amp for comparision! Well we can't have all the toys.

What would you like for a Revelation pre-amp to do to the guitar's tone? The guitar by itself sounds very, very good. In other words, what would you hope to change with a pre-amp? |

That sample that Randy Beavers played on here with the revelation pre-amp just blew me away! Anyhow I re-recorded the whole song (minus mistakes) with the Steel King and it's wall to wall sound now. I have "Half A Mind" to post it here but I don't have the bucks to pay the royalties so I am just recording ET stuff for my own enjoyment.
