I have a question for anyone who has a Nashville 400 in a separate head and cab. I am thinking about splitting my Nashville 400 into a head and speaker setup to make it easier to move. Did you just wire the speaker wires out of the Nashville head to a ΒΌ inch jack and use a normal speaker cord to connect the speaker cabinet? Is the any danger on damaging the Nashville if you were to turn it on without the speaker attached? Also does anyone have the dimensions for the head? Any other tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You might want to contact Rick Johnson here on the forum. He does do some fantastic work from what I've seen. If you're going to do it yourself he may can answer your questions.

Hey Kenny--I would do a standard Fender style 1/4" to 1/4" speaker jack set up. I have never had any problems with a solid state head being on without the speaker load. On general principle I would not turn it up and play a power chord without the speaker but the cardinal rule of tube amps speaker loads does not apply------(my lawyer insists that I say "AFAIK".....as far as I know).
