What is the secret to getting the power cord pushed back through the cord grip?

Gary, thanks for using my pedal. Up until the middle of 2005 the cord grip at the pedal had a gold colored washer that locks to the nut with a little raised portion. Since the middle of 2005 the cord grip is the same, except it has a silver colored washer that does not lock. I would guess you have the gold colored washer that has a raised lock.
If you will look closely around the nut holding the cord, you can see where the gold washer locks on the nut. You will need something like an ice pick to push down where the washer locks the nut. Once the lock washer is pushed down, you can simply unscrew the nut holding the power cord. Unscrew, means turn the nut the oposite way a clock turns. Before you start pushing the cord back in the pedal, remove the two hinge screws and take the top half of the pedal apart from the bottom half. When you do this you can see inside the bottom half of the pedal and see what you are pushing back inside the pedal. Make sure there are no exposed wires.
If there are exposed wires tape them off. The power cord is strong enough to hang a 200 pound bass player by the neck. Drummers are the ones who trip over the power cord and jerk the connection out of the pedal. If you can't get the pedal fixed, I will fix it free for you. Glad you got it fixed Larry. Craig, the cord is molded into the power supply, and the outter cover must be broken. I don't know of any way to get the cord back into the power supply because it is molded to it.
The power supply will still work if the outer cover is broken. The wires inside are really strong and will take a long time to break, even with bending. Tape off the point where the outter cover is broken. I sell and install new power supplies. The cost is $24.00 for the power supply and $12.00 return shipping. |
