This looks pretty interesting as a very low cost solution to interfacing your electric instrument with recording software:

I believe the price is $39.95.

This is not an endorsement. I haven't seen or tried one but read about it and thought it might be of interest.

Funny how modern this technology is , but it kinda defreats the purpose as it only records 16 bit .....I don't know anybody who records 16 bit anymore .....????....Jim

That's true, but if they used a higher resolution A/D converter it would be a good bit more than $40.

I get 24 bit / 44.1 KHz A/D with an S/PDIF output on my GT-6 or GT-8 and the SoundBlaster Live cards have an S/PDIF input. Works great for 'music room stuff'.

More and more Fx devices are coming with direct outputs via USB or S/PDIF these days.

Maybe no one records 16 bit any more but that's how it will be when you put it on a CD.

I'll take great sounding 16 Bit convertors to average (or below average) sounding 24 bit ones all day long...
