When I was a teenager and just learning the steel, I met Bobby Koefer a few times when he was palying with Billy Gray in Oklahoma. Bobby wrote down his tunings for me, and I have since lost that paper. I recall that he really only used two of the three necks.
Thanx,
Jim |

Dave, in that last 7-string tuning you listed(with the "?")-- the lower "E" should read "Eb". At least that's the way
the "Chord Finder" section of Ricky Davis' website (Mighty Fine Music) shows this Bobby Koefer tuning.[This message was edited by Stephan Miller on 30 October 2004 at 02:27 PM.] |

Stephan,
The last three tunings listed are 7 string tunings Bobby used on Tom Morrel's "No Peddlers" recording.
The guestion mark is Tom not knowing what to name the tuning. |

Dave--d'oh! I see now that you had listed the tuning I was getting at, in the previous line. Guess I'll toddle off to the Merchandise section and pick up a couple more Morrells. |
