When I got home today the postman left a little note in the mail box, Package on back porch, and I wondered why he didnt just put the BB in the mail box. Anyway the BB was there on the porch. Hay, this is a serious piece of equipment, bigger than the stomp boxes I have seen. From pictures i have seen of the BB, I thought it was a stomp box size.
Nope, its a little bigger. The BB looks great and is a well built piece of equipment.
So now comes the good part, I hook it up to the NV112 & fire it up with my Emmons. Not much change in tone overall Whats wrong here I thought? I got it,,,it needs to warm up a little so I wait,,,nothing So now I fiddle with the knob on the BB,,nothing,,,, so as I sat there looking at the BB I found the problem ! I had a knuckle head attack when I hooked it up,,,,I had it after the volume pedal. So I put the BB in line direct from the pick up to the volume pedal.
There it was ! sweet tone to the bone After a couple of hours of playing I was so pleased with the sound the BB added.
This is one fantastic piece of equipment !

I just sent my BB back to Brad today for the upgrade. Miss it already. My Zum sounds a little empty without it! It IS a great piece of equiptment. I know you're gonna enjoy yours.

I love my black box and wouldn't think of ever playing without it. Wait till you've had it a while, the more you use it the more you'll learn of its capabilities and the more you will love it. Brad's the BOSS.

Richard, Brad's SGBB is a very simple way to enhance your pickup's tone and now with his tone knob upgrade, I'm told you can "fine" tune it in even more! I'll be sending my Black Box on to him very soon for the upgrade--Enjoy your new sound! Carl

It really does add a whole other dimension to the tone. It's sort of hard to pin down but it's very pleasing to the ear and when you take it out of the loop after using it awhile its absence is really noticeable. I've got a Nashville 112 on the way and I can't wait to try it with that.

Carl, James,
If you don't have the tone mod on your SGBB, have Brad do it ASAP! You'll be glad you did. I just got mine back...Wow!

now with his tone knob upgrade

Carl, are you referring to the 'variable impedence control"?

Also, has anyone tried running this box along with the Roland Micro Cube?

Ron, appreciate the info--will be sending it to Brad very shortly! Carl

Derrick,
Yes, I believe this is correct--with this "knob", you can "tweak" the tone to your ear--Don't quote me on this, but I believe Brad said he could add this feature for $15.00 (plus shipping to/fro...) Carl

Brad retro-fitted mine, which I got back a week or two ago, and I found that I do like the sound with the knob turned a little brighter, so it definitely benefited me.

Next will be Brad's preamp, with the BB built into it.
