This months issue of Guitar Player Magazine has an advertisment for the H&K tube rotosphere in a pedal format. I had the rack mount model and I loved it but I didn't care to carry a rack for just this unit. This may be worth looking into. It sells for $399.00
Here are the specs:

| I recall seeing Bob Hoffnar play using a Rotosphere pedal six years ago, so I am not sure what the news is here exactly. I also did not know that there was a rack mount unit available, would work better for me since the Rotosphere I recall seeing was about the size of a garden spade. Sounded pretty dang cool, I have to say. |

| I sold the H&K gear and never heard of a rack unit. The pedal units were pretty decent if not a little high maintenance. I don't ever recall seeing anything here about a rack unit. |

The advertisement in GP mag led me to believe that this pedal was a new product. I didn't know the Rotosphere was available in this format and was only aware of the rack version.
I would like to test ride one for the heck of it. |

| It sounds interesting. I still use my Leslie or Korg G4 (which I think is better than the Rotosphere), but the Rotosphere is the best of the current-production emulators IMO. |

| From what I have been able to gather this is just an updated version of the old pedal, with little new to offer. The pricing on these varies wildly, so spend a little time researching before you buy- so far I've seen a disparity of about $140 in prices. |

I have used one of these units for several years and love it. I'm strictly a gospel player and it really sounds nice on the old gospel songs. I keep mine located close by my rack and run a two button remote over to my left foot to engage and disengage the effect. The second button is to slow down and speed up the effect. Great unit!

Where did you get the rackable Rotosphere, Len? I want one!
Are you sure you're not thinking of the Digitech RPM-1?

I have a HK Rotosphere and I anve only used it for regular guitar (not steel) and even though it does emulate a leslie speaker well... but I have never been happy with the tone when the effect is on. Maybe I just haven't figured out how to set everything.
