Hi Mike, first of all thank you for being here on this forum and taking the time to answer our questions.
My question is about the Windsor. I realize that it is not an amp designed for steel guitar (sorry). The story i am hearing on this amp is that it is a JCM800 clone, all tube 120 watt, and that the price is gonna come in at just under $400. If this is true Peavey is going to sell truckloads of these amps! This will be HUGE.
Here is a link descrbing the Windsor. http://www.peavey.com/news/article.cfm/action/view/id/178/20061701.cfm
anything at all you could tell me about it would be awesome, and I understand if you cannot reveal the price just yet. Thanks again Mike![This message was edited by Ben Jones on 03 February 2006 at 09:30 AM.] |

Somehow, I find that very hard to believe! |

me too Donny, but there is a HUGE market for an affordable JCM800 clone that no one has really filled yet. If the price is even close to that mark, Peavey is gonna sell an insane amount of these things. Peavey has always been known for incredible value in terms of what you get for the money spent.
It does seem impossible tho dont it? |

China? Yes, I think they might do it.
But made here? Not hardly. I don't even think Peavey sells a solid-state 120 watt amp for that amount! And, solid state amps are far cheaper and easier to produce than tube amps. |

OKay now i am hearing $299, and yes it will be made in China. It will be the second Peavey to be buit there along with i beleive the Valve King? I'm guesssing the idea here is to bring JCM800 style amps into the rooms of high school kids across america, and personally i think, unless this amp is a total POS, it will be a VERY wise business move. Cant wait to hear one.... |

Guys - don't knock it if it's made in China. The ValveKing is an awesome sounding amp, and I've taken the chassis out of mine and its really well put together. I think the prices of these tube amps are just astonishing. |
