Hey Gary,
Happy New Year......
My '76 Session 400 has a JBL D-130 which sounds great. There are some threads about this speaker, and it seems to be a very revered speaker.. All I know is that it sounds great with my Sho-Bud. I'm just back from a 3-set workout with it, and it honked the whole night through. |

I've had several. I prefer the 70's session with the early Black Widow. My pick for best all around steel guitar amp period. But tone is subjective or all in the hands. And not all birds fly south in the winter. |

I too now feel of all the amps I have and have had , my 78 Session 400 (aluminum knobs) I just acquired is really the best.
The PS is noisy as all get go but I can fix that...
I can see one, possibly two of my amps on the auction block pretty soon, with the plan to get an additional Session 400...

I agree with Chris and Bobby about the 70's Session 400. The Session 500 was THE best in my opinion, but too hard to tote around.
I have a 1977 Session 400 with a BW 1501 and like it a LOT! |

No problem, Gary. My buddy downed a few Moose this season, and if I still have the pics I'll send 'em your way. There's thousands of these beasts up here.
Did you know Johnny Cash came here in '64 with his posse, downed a Moose, and served it backstage at Carnegie Hall a few days later? It's in his biography, "Cash".
No snow to speak of yet, surprisingly, but it is #@%&ing freezing up here.

I love my Session 500, with a new 1501 BW. I put a speaker in it a few weeks ago. It's great sounding amp with lot's of power. And they're lightweight too!

Believe it or not I took the rollers off of mine. I'm thinking about adding blow-up tires!

All of the Session steel guitar amplifiers have their own identity. The only way to determine your favorite it to try them all out.
Now, may I direct you to our website? It is at www.peavey.com I invite you to attend the upcoming Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree to find out for yourself. Please feel free to visit the Peavey Demo Room and try out one of our Nashville Series amplifiers.
