What are the pros and cons to each of these volume pedals. And why did you choose the one you have. BTW I'm not talking about the pot Goodrich pedal.

I have a Hilton, although I've used Goodrich pot pedals for many years.
The number one reason, Keith Hilton.
Although I looked at and tried a Goodrich, there was no contest with the Hilton's method of volume control, engineering, and use of "audiophile" components.
The new Goodrich electronic volume pedal advertises that it uses batteries and thus no "wall wart" power supply, however, it does have an external unit that connects to the steel's leg, and for me negates any advantage.

I echo Jacks feelings. I am sure there are several good pedals on the market. When I set up to play a job, a Hilton pedal is in my signal path. I have known Keith for many years and he is an outstanding gentleman.

I just got my Hilton pedal, and I'm not quite sure I'll ever go back to the Goodrich L-120 I played through for years.
Now that I re-read your post, I see that my opinion probably doesn't apply here. You're asking the difference between a Hilton and an LDR and other light beam pedals?

| I went back and forth between the Hilton and the Goodrich for a week and bought the Goodrich. To my ears, it was just a little sweeter sounding, though I could have been happy with either... |

| FWIW My earlier post was not meant to degrade Keith. I have purchased several items in the past from Keith and was completly satisfied. I meant though I liked the Hilton,the Goddrich was to my liking;sweeter. Keith made the greatest amp stands ever and I needed another but Keith informed me he no longer makes them. CC |

The battery in my Goodrich volume pedal is lasting REALLY a long time since I got my Hilton pedal (:>)>=[

| FWIW, I never noticed the thing about pot pedals cutting the highs (when not at the wide open position), untill I ran a 6 string electric (strat) through one. |

| I use the Goodrich LDR2 (power supply, not batteries) and it is the best I have every used. Although I haven't tried a Hilton I would guess they are on a par, and way better in performance and frequency response than the Pot alternatives. |
