The Nashville 1000 has an open grill area on the top side. I imagine this is for ventilation. I always thought that was kind of odd, considering what could fall or spill into it.

My question is whether stacking another amp on top of it (thus blocking some air flow) would cause problems. This wouldn't be for extended amounts of playing. Perhaps an hour at a time.

Thanks!

Thanks for asking Lawrence. It is never a good practice to set a liquid on top of ANY electronic device. We are talking about electricity. I think that it has become the "norm" in most honky tonks to set a drink on an amplifier. THIS IS NOT A GOOD PRACTICE. But, as you know, heat rises and a vent is an economical way to disperse than a fan, ie; additional parts equal $$$$, labor $$$$, weight $$$$, etc., and all of this cost has to end up somewhere. Why design more expense into a product than you have too?

Stacking another amp on top of a Nashville amp should not be a problem as there will be somewhat less heat generated by the digital power amp. This would be comparable to leaving a rack space in between products that produce heat(such as power amps) in a rack case.

Thanks for the quick response, Mike. I never (okay, almost never) put liquids on top of my amp. Sometimes, however, the bass player crammed in behind you lacks the basic skills to keep his beer in his glass.

My question about the stacking has been answered.

Thanks!
