I know it's been covered before, but after searching for quite a while with litle luck, I'll go ahead and ask. I bought a new Steel King yesterday and didn't get the manual with it. The amp is not on the list of manuals from the Fender site. I'd like some initial settings for use with my Zum u12. I find a sound I like for a while, then keep fiddling with it until I lose it. Anyone have favorite settings? It's a great sounding amp, the full range of notes are very clear. Tia.

Howard you can start with everything straight up (usually not a bad sound for most guitars) and then cut or add until you get what you want. The EQ tilt works like the tone knob you use to see on old amps. It cuts or adds to the total EQ. Once you get the sound you want, usually you can use the EQ tilt to adjust for different rooms or even for different songs. You are going to love this amp.

Howard,
Great advise from Clyde. I would also add, that The MID LEVEL knob adjust the tone character at the frequency set by the Mid FREQ knob. NOTE: The EQ has no effect when the MID LEVEL knob is set at "0"

Thanks Larry I forgot to mention that and it is correct. I would like to add that IMHO this is a very user friendly amp. I really like the tuner hook-up and mute switch. |

I played an outdoor gig with it last night. It really cuts through. So far I'm really liking it. Off topic, the humidity here in Louisiana was so heavy, the pad on my U12 stayed so wet, I probably ruined a set of strings.
