If it wasn't for Bill ... I wouldn't have any of these cool things to "Show Off" at the HSGA Convention ... and probably not be goin' ...

Since he's tired of me sayin' THANK YOU ... I thought Id put up a song played by my two FAVORITE steel players ...

Hame Pila

Andy Iona's Version

Bobby Nichols' Version ... Bruce Clarke says its probably Nichols singin' too

Kinda a cutting contest ...

Man that is great stuff! Amazing how wonderful the simple E major chord tuning can be in the hands of the right players.

Beautiful stuff ... really swinging, BUT, Listen to 1'25" in the Bobby Nichols' version, I think maybe E6 tuning..

Ok I tried ...

Pila seems to mean "Bill" (duh) and "Stringed Instrument" ...

But what does "Hame" mean ...

I found the lyrics and the "English Translation" ... but that didn't help

Anyway, thanks Bill

"Hame is a transliteration of an unidentified instrument; pila refers to any stringed instrument."

This is what I found under the translation.
