Can anyone assist in figuring out what is causing the reverb in my Session 400 to be noisy? When I turn it up, the amp produces a mid-range hum that's basically unacceptable for recording or playing live. I'm currently using a Holy Grail reverb, but would love to get the amp 'verb fixed.

Talk to Mike Brown...I just sent my old 400 down to Peavey...it had a similar problem (along with other issues) and it came back like new, very quickly, and for a very reasonable price...I don't know how they do it.

Thanks for the compliments, Jeremy.

Chris, a 'hum' problem can be caused by various things, ie; loose ground, component failure, etc.. It is very difficult to pinpoint where this "hum" is coming from, but if it occurs when you increase the reverb control, it's probably a problem in the reverb circuit as opposed to a ground loop.

I will be glad to help you determine where the problem is being generated from if you will call me toll free in North America at 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1180. I am in the office until 3:30 today and 5PM CST the remainder of the week. I look forward to assisting you.

Mike Brown, you're a real gentleman! Thanks so much for fixing my reverb over the phone and being such a nice guy. Imagine, it was as simple as reversing the RCA inputs. And I've been going around for months with no 'verb on the amp.
This forum is a wonderful thing, as is Peavey customer service. Anybody wanna buy a Holy Grail reverb? Ha-ha!
