Hey,
I used to work for Musitronics back in the 70's.
I have schematics, wiring diagrams, component specifications and other information on all of these old products.
I can make any of this information available @ N/C with an email inquiry.

I'd be interested in seeing schematics for the compressor (Orange Squeezer?) Mutron Vol/Wah, Phaser II and the Mutron Envelope Filter.
Do you have an owner's manual for a Phaser II?
Thanks!

I know that DeArmond is not MusiTronics but if anyone has any idea about the Tremtrol (volume/tremolo) pedal that they had I'd love to know as I have one that the volume part works fine but the tremolo part, while working mechanically, does not do what it is supposed to (ie- no tremolo). It has a part that is shaken a variable amount that looks like a capacitor but I'm sure is not and has no numbers on it to tell me what it is.

I got more responses that expected . . .
I have set-up a website for access to the schematics.

Musitronics Effects & Dan Armstrong Box Schematics

The first ones up are:

Dan Armstrong Boxes:

Orange Squeezer
Yellow Humper
Purple Peaker
Green Ringer
Blue Clipper
Red Ranger

MUSITRONICS - Effects:

Mutron III
Micro V
Phasor II ("A" sized - 4 pages)
Octave Divider ("A" sized - 2 pages)

The "Bi-Phase" schematic is also "A" sized (6 pages)
and must "manipulated" to make it accessable.
It will be posted later.
It might be easier to send as an email attachment right now . . .
So, if you realy want this now . . .
Please send me a direct email request.

The "Volume-Wah" will take some time . . .
As the "origonal" schematic is "hand-drawn" & very "rough"!

If you have trouble reading any of the information . . .
Feel free to send me an email request for clarification.

If you are handy . . .
I have a "loaded" Phaser II circuit board
and some DA Yellow, Purple & Red boards.
Plus a bunch of empty DA boxes.
I am all out of Blue, Orange & Green.

Paul, I don't recall there being an owners manual for any of these . . .
They are "set-it-as-you-like-it" kind of devices.
The DA boxes had information about switching the input & output leads for use at the amp.

I have added the Phasor II schematic . . .
This was an old "A" type schematic (fadded blue),
reduced & patched together . . .
So, it may be a little difficult to read.
It also will not print-out (for me) . . .
I may have to come up with another file compilation system for this.

If you unsucesfully tried to get the Phasor II schematic before . . .
Try again . . . I have now fixed it.

Dan or anyone; do you know what the opto element in the Mutron III envelope filter is? That seems to be the one unique component in that circuit. Best sounding envelope filter EVER.

It was a custom "dual-cell" device made by HAMAMATSU
I may still have a few on hand, if you want one . . .
I will have to look.
I know that I have some discret "single-cell" DIP pack
HAMAMATSU Opto Devices around.
I ordered about 50 of them a long time ago for various projects.
They have the same "OFF" impedance
and about the same "ON" response as the ones used by Musitronics.

A little feedback . . .
Does the Phasor II schematic "download" work for you?

I have been in the process of moving and have stumbled upon . . .
Some "Bi-Phase" chassis/boxes/cases.
Anyone tying to build something like this
or working on a project big enough that might need this size case?

I also found two complete "Volume-Wah" pedals.
One is an early unit that is modified with an Orange Squeezer & Blue Clipper installed.
The other is a "Post-Arp" unit with the power switch.
(I don't know if this one works. But, if you are interested I could check it out.)

Any interest here?
Send me a direct email.

Thanks so much for putting the web site together. I know a bunch of "Deadheads" who will be all over the Mutron II schematic.

I found the "Octave-Divider" and the "Volume-Wa" . . .
But, I have some "clean-up" to do on these.
I'll get them up soon.

The "Mutron Bi-Phase" schematic is now available.
The "Volume-Wah" may take a while . . .
It is very small and poorly hand-schetched.
If there is a particular DA box wiring diagram that you need . . .
Please send me an email request and I will send it directly to you.

How about the old Mutron Dig delay. I used the dickins out of the Mutron stuff back then. GREAT gadgets. I still have my Mutron III.

Can anybody make one of the Mutron Octave Dividers?
I've never heard one myself, but word is that they were great Octave units.

The Delay was made post "ARP", after I left the company.
(Near its death, when they where sinking too much $ into the GIZMO).
I was involved with the Flanger pedal just before I left.
But, I do not have any documentation on it.
The Octave-Divider was average . . .
But, it did have a unique feature: a "Green-Ringer" circuit to get an octave above.
