I just got an FET 500 LV Evans, how can I tell if it was Stephens or Buffington built? The serial number begins with "95", does this mean it was made in '95?

I also have a Stephens built Evans Amp S/N 8913 purchased by me in May 1994, while Derrell Stephens still owned the company. Although I do not know how many, if any, Amp chassis were included in the sale of Evans Amplifier Company to Ed Buffington, I would venture a guess that your Evans Amp was built by Ed Buffington, who continues to build a very good Amplifier for Steel Guitar. |

Darvin, I also have an FET 500 LV Evans Amp built by Derrell I bought it new in early 1983 and it has serial number 8355-B and I also have a 1999 SE 200. The FET 500 far out performs the SE 200 even after I changed the speaker to a Black Widow. I believe Derrell put JBL E130 speakers in most if not all of his amps
