this is a continuation of another thread but I thought the title would make it a little clearer what we are doing. We are tring to get line 6 to make some models or maybe even a steel guitar model pack for some of the more popular amps like the peaveys and the new fender steel King and the webb and evans along with some of the cleaner cabs like a jbl d115 and a black widow the link is
http://line6.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

register and then go to line 6 general there is a post under my name Jeff Hogsten, there may be others or even start a new one, if some of the better known more visable name players would get on board and maybe even start a thread under their name it would help, Tommy, Paul,if they can model these amps as well as they have the guitar amps on the newest version of the pod xt this will be a great benifit to everyone, The ball is rolling lets keep it going

Added my 2 cents to the Line6 site. Good going Jeff, this may work if enough of us chime in.

try the Flextone lll by line6 on the Jazz setting only and you will get a very warm tube steel sound.
you run out of headroom on a loud job but what a great tone.

The only reason is you have to push the drive knob to kick the volume.

If Line6 could somehow make the drive work as a second master volume to keep it clean MY SEARCH WOULD BE OVER.

I dont know much about their forum but thats something for somebody to take to them.

Okay, I added my 2 cents to the Line 6 Forum. I think we should keep it simple. They are not going to add several models to please the small steeler market. I suggested one clean tube model and one solid state model with voicing and EQ for steel. They seem to prefer modelling classic amps rather than new versions. The silver-face Fender Twin family (Dual, Vibrosonic) is the classic clean tube sound, and would also appeal to regular guitarists. The Peavey Session seems to be the most popular classic solid state sound and EQ controls.

The 15" JBL D130 is the natural for the classic 15" speaker model, and that too would appeal to lots of regular guitar players, because Stevie Ray Vaugn used that in his Vibroverb.

I didn't post on the forum, I didn't want to register for another forum, besides I'm already registered with Line 6, that should suffice.

However, I did e-mail them and suggest they consider the Steel Guitar Community. My Recommendations were for a Peavey "parametric" EQ preamp such as used on the Session500/Nashville 400/Nashville 1000 and the new 112 amp. The amps with the parametric EQ are the most common Peavey amps in use. My suggestion for a 15" speaker emulation is the Peavey 15" 1501 BW that is used in the later Nashville 400's and the Nashville 1000's. According to Mike Brown that is the preferred Pedal Steel Guitar speaker. ALL the Pedal Steelers in our Florida Steel Guitar Club are either using the Nashville 400 or Nashville 1000 and the ones using a rack system are using 1501 speakers.

I also suggested a D130 or K130 JBL speaker emulation. Most Steelers lean toward the Fender Twin Reverb for steel.
