Are "George L's E66 meant for the E9th neck only??. My Emmons P/P (mid 60's) came with E66's fitted to both necks. The C6yh neck sounds very woolley on the bottom strings, Whilst the upper strings jump out (nearly) screaming. The original pickups came loose with the guitar. Should I put the original C6th pickup back?? The E9th sounds just great with the E66 fitted. Please give me your thoughts in this matter.

Nic I'm sure it would vary from guitar to guitar - I have an E66 on the C6th neck of my MCI and it sounds superb, big and fat but with plenty of punch on the lower notes.

Thanks Paddy. Maybe I should play around with the EQ on my Session 500.

As I understand it, "E66" is an allusion to an Emmons '66 pickup which it is supposed to emulate, not the E neck. I've heard lots of guitars with E66's on both neck and I think they sound great, really one of the best humbuckers out there. Personally I think the 10-1 pickup that is often matched with the E66 is too dull.

To each his own.But for an Emmons sound I love the 108 N's on both necks...........bb

Guys, I found the solution!!
I've just put on new Jagwire Stainless Steel strings, and the difference is incredible. I'll keep both puckups on.
Thanks for your replies.
