| I am considering going to a rack mount tuner. I had trouble the other night with detuning and couldn't keep up with my hand held Korg. Normally, my D10 Remington stays put but this time it was irritating. Any suggestions on that issue? Jerry M. |

I use a Korg DTR-1 (most features) and a Korg DTR-2. These are great tuners and can both be found on Ebay regularly. The DTR-2 can usually be had for less than $100 and the DTR-1 for around $150.
The DTR-1 has note display, cord checker, strobe mode and a few other things I don't remember. The DTR-2 is more basic without
these features but works fine as well.
The new Korg rack mounts are the DTR-1000 and DTR-2000 (most features). They are considerably higher and not much difference in the features, if any. They are a little more modern looking cosmetically.
I really like the rack mount tuners because of the wide, easy to read scale! Mine stays hooked up through the effects loop so just a glance over at the rack and hit a string...just that quick. |

I had one of the newer DTR 2000 rack tuners and it worked well, and supposedly fixed problems in the older models.
But, if your really want a higher dollar tuner/accurate tuner, consider the Peterson VS-II or VSam strobe tuners. They also have a bracket that will mount on the steel's leg. Once I got the VS-II, the DTR-2000 was sold. |

This is what I use; and you just stomp on; tweek up; stomp off and never miss a note of the song. It does not effect the signal/tone/sound at all.
Cost much less than a Rack mount.

| J, I have a rack mount tuner, DT-1 tunes in cents. works verv well and gives my steel a richer sound playing thru it, and its a lot cheaper than the DTR-1 or DTR-2000. I am going to sell it soon, as I have two of them. Let me know if you are interested. Ron |
